NYX Nude on Nude Eyeshadow Pallete

I purchased this pallete in January and have had a fair use of it. So today i'll share my thoughts on this product.

The Nyx Nude on Nude pallete comes in 20 eyeshadow colors and 10 lip glosses.
This pallete comes in a mix of matte/satin and shimmery colors.
The packaging in my opinion is not of a high quality. Very flimsy. Its made of plastic, and the pull out lip gloss compartment, is loosely clipped in, hence easily slipped out. I've already accidentally destroyed one lip gloss by accidentally poking my finger in it while trying to store away the pallete when the lip compartment  slipped out.

When i first got it, I was excited to try it out but became immediately dissapointed with it.
The eyeshadows are powdery. I'm in no way exaggerating. i could feel it falling on to my cheeks when i was applying it.

Disappointing ! It comes with really nice shimmery colors but the quality is unacceptable. U really need an eyeshadow primer to make it stay put. The shimmery colors doesnt spread evenly, so u'll have to blend and spread it well. Forget the applicator that comes with it and use your own eyeshadow brush or your fingers.U need to dab it on to build the color, not just swipe it on your eyelids. Lets not start on the eyeshadows in mattes. Absolutely poor pigmentation! Heck i bought a cheap eyeshadow pallete online last year, and even that cheapo pallete had better pigmentation and color pay off.

I couldnt be bothered to try the lip glosses.
Since i've bought it, i'm just going to use the eyeshadows as much as i can. But no to recommending it. Yes it's affordable at RM99. But with this kinda product quality. I'm better off using my cheap online purchased make up pallete .

I gravitated towards this pallete out of all the others in Sephora because of the name: Nude on Nude, since  I initially wanted the Urban Decay Naked pallete . But the Urban Decay was pricier, so i went with this one.
People online were saying this is a dupe version of the UD Naked pallete, and some say you cant compare them because its totally different. Well, i cant comment on this, but i surely still want the UD Naked pallete because of the great reviews.

I Want

Things/items i wanna do and get (Again the list is influenced by my fav youtubers: The SacconeJolys /Leflooftv)

1.First off, I sooo wanna go to Costa Coffee and grab a bite to eat. I've bought a beverage to go from Costa's before but i've never sat down and had a meal. I'd order the toasted tuna sandwich and probably an iced chocolate. Since i dont drink coffee, I'll make my husband get a cup, because my dream wouldnt be complete if we didnt get a cup of coffee like Anna and Joffee always does when they go into Costa's for lunch.
Even at home they drink their coffee religiously with their Costa coffee cup. How can i not dream of going to Costa Coffee.Sighh...

 2. Alpen porridge. Another staple in Anna's diet. She has this every morning with half a banana (sliced) and a dash of cinnamon powder for breakfast. Previously her favourite was the raspberry apple and raisin flavour, but about a week ago she's been having the new flavour which is the apricot almond and hazelnut. Alpen has many flavours but the one i'd like to get is the apricot one and the maple and pecan flavour. Looks soo yummers!

3. Batiste Dry Syampoo- I want to try and use dry syampoo. As i know its not good to wash my hair daily because it strips out the natural oil my hair/head produces that's supposedly good. I cant go a day without syampooing. I hate it when my hair gets flat and oily and itchy. So what's better than a dry syampoo to give my 2nd day or maybe 3rd day hair that fluff and freshness. Again seen many youtubers use this brand. So cant wait to get one.

 4. Bed Head hair products by Tigi. Honestly, i think the brand name is the reason I want to get it. I wanna try the syampoo and conditioner. Just for fun. It comes in vibrant color packaging and FUN ranges :  dumb blonde, self absorbed, superstar, moisture maniac, brunette goddess and more..

 5. Yankee Candle. Anna loves these candles. She said it smells amazing. She got the 'spiced pumpkin' scent for Halloween and for Christmas she got the 'christmas eve' scent. I think Yankee Candle is from the US , but its available in the UK and Ireland. They have all these cute n fun scents like 'banana nut bread', 'vanilla cupcake', 'home sweet home', 'cinnamon & sugar', 'almond cookie' and so so many more! I want!!!

 6. MilkShake conditioning Whipped Cream. The brand/name got me itching and so eager to buy and try this product. I imagine it smelling sweet like a vanilla/choc milkshake with whipped cream on top. OK now i want the real thing to drink! Anyway, its a leave in mousse conditioner that's supposed to do wonders to your hair. Read great reviews about this product and it was featured in one of Anna's monthly favourite item.

All the pictures above are from Google

I think i'm a lil obsessed with Anna, Joffee and Emilia. My dad's taking us all to my youngest brother's graduation this summer. And i've secretly thought of going to Ireland to hopefully get Anna to do a meet up. Cray Cray right! More like obsessed. Unfortunately i recalled that they're going to Sorrento this summer.

May We Get Our Happy Ending

Today I would have been 24 weeks along in my second pregnancy.
If my first pregnancy was successful, he/she would have been around 1 year and 5 months.
A toddler...He/She would have been a handful. Would have been the apple of our eyes..

Allah knows best. And if without iman, I would have been in a state of darkness.
But i refuse to let depression take over.
In all honesty, its hard to watch other people, especially ones who married later than i did, all already holding their babies.
But its not a race on who has a baby first.. Its a race in terms of the number of child bearing years i'm left with. My time will come, Insyallah. If Allah permits..
My gynae's optimistic.. I'm not so myself. Scared of feeling hurt again.
Insyallah will try harder this year. Not that we've really tried before. Hope to get medically assisted and with lots of doa,  prep my body better for the next pregnancy. If it'll ever come..No.... i cant be negative. Positivism is crucial to go through this journey. May next time, I'll be able to carry my pregnancy to term. Amin.

Please know my dear unborn babies (using the term baby/babies loosely because i dont want to be calling them embrios or anything else, to us they were already our babies), mommy and abah loves you..
To my future baby, please sudi make me and him your parents. I promise we'll love you more than we love ourselves ..Bring tears to my eyes whenever i remember seeing my 2nd unborn baby's heart fluttering away for the first time, and by the next scan we saw how much bigger you have grown. We joked on how chubby you looked. We were sure that you were going to be like us. Chubby-ish. You were this round blob (sorry baby! We could make out your head and your body) on the screen with a beating heart.. Later we left the clinic grinning form ear to ear.

Going through a missed miscarriage once is tough. To go through it twice, it just rips your heart.
RIPS YOUR HEART.

So hard that just typing this entry makes me want to break down and cry..
I must be strong to go through this long road.

For the time being, i'm going to enjoy and embrace life as a woman who's fast approaching her 30's with my fun and loving husband.

Gift Box from the Bride to her Dulang Girls

2 weekends ago, I attended my good friend's wedding in Langkawi. I myself and 4 other girls was elected as her dulang girls for her nikah. (Not that we had to carry any dulangs) We just wore the same color/material and did what we did best; posed for pictures with the Bride and Groom. I didnt manage to snap pictures of the nikah because i was busy with the bride and being the dulang girl.

Anyway, we stayed at the same hotel she hosted her nikah and wedding reception. We stayed for 2 nights. But feels like we were there for too short of a stay. Hope to come back in the future.
The Danna Langkawi is beautiful. Their rooms are huge and comes with a huge 4 poster bed. Love!
The infinity pool tempts you to dip in, but too bad time doesnt permit us in doing so.
Below are some of the pictures i got to snap using my phone of the room and pool area. Have more pictures in my camera but too lazy to transfer.

his and hers sink/vanity space

The wedding marquee was up when we got there

Pool lounging chairs literally in the pool

When we checked into our room, i found this box with a note with my name on it. Its a gift from the Bride to her dulang girls. The Bride got the hotel to place the gift boxes in our rooms prior to our arrival.

When i opened the box, there was a handwritten note from the Bride and Groom

And here's the inside:  Bridal version of the Wonderbox from the Bride!

Eyelash curler and mascara

Sunblock, shaver, nail buffer, cotton buds, hair ties, plasters, and oil blotter

Soap and Glory's body butter and body scrub

Sewing kit and some hair pins. U never know when us ladies might need to stitch something or need a hair pin to tuck away those fly aways.

The Bride thought of all the things her girls would/might need on her wedding day. Thoughtful beyond words!

Here are some of the pictures from the reception. It was a beach wedding. Held under a beautiful decorated marquee with beautiful table settings and decorations.

It was a beautiful reception. Everyone kept on buzzing about how beautiful the wedding was.We had good food. Fresh oysters and all the other fancy schmancy food!
They ended the night with a fireworks show! It was something like the KLCC's new years eve fireworks! Everyone enjoyed the wedding.

So upset my camera battery and my phone went dead just as the reception was about to start. So stupid of me to not check before leaving our room.

Congratulations to the Bride and Groom!

Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Cream #02 Natural

Its been quite some time that i got to know about the existence of BB Cream's. As usual, watched one of Anna's make up routine and she used a bb cream instead of a foundation. It looks creamy and easy to apply. Plus on Anna it seems to have given her good coverage.

Bb cream is short for beauty balm. This particular bb cream: Maybelline Clear Smooth Bb Cream, i got from Watsons was priced at rm14.90, where else it was rm19.90 in Guardian. (checked the price at Guardian on the same day i bought it from Watsons) its like rm5 cheaper in Watson! how can that be?
Anyway this bb cream's benefits are :

  • skin brightening
  • covers imperfections
  • moisturizes + protects ( has SPF26)
There's only 2 shades available which are #01 fresh, #02 natural. I got the latter.
I swatched the 2 shades on the back of my hand and found that the fresh was too white for me.
So i went with natural. It comes in a mint color 18ml tube.

Verdict:
Applied it before work started and by 10am, my face felt oilier than usual (bare in mind that i do have oily skin) and it got a bit patchy because i sweat easily. So for you girls that have medium to dry skin, it wouldnt be a problem. On the coverage part, i felt it gave me sheer to medium coverage. I guess it might be buildable. It doesnt really cover my imperfections but it made my complexion looks smooth and even .
Kinda disappointed because i was expecting true coverage from it as it was for Anna. But in reality Anna used a different brand and it was silly of me of thinking that i'd get the same results.

To me i find it works like a foundation, except that it has benefits for my skin. The texture is runny and i just use my fingers to even it out on my face. It absorbs into the skin and blends well after only 1 or 2 minutes.

Repurchase: Yes

Value for money: for Rm 14.90, it definitely cheap but u dont get a lot of product in it.

I dont have a good complexion, but the bb cream blended really well with my skin color and made my complexion even (used with a finishing powder)

After 6 hours of application.without any touch ups. I thought it still looked quite smooth
(used with a finishing powder)

Wonderbox

My first Wonderbox arrived today!
Wonderbox is one of our Malaysian monthly surprise beauty boxes.
I discovered the Glossy Box from the UK, but too bad they dont ship elsewhere. So u can imagine how excited i got when i found out that we have our own beauty boxes

Each month these beauty box companies will send their subscribers 5 or 6 related sample size and sometimes full sized beauty related products. For example, make up, skin care and hair care.
There are a few other beauty boxes like Wonderbox such as Modbox, Vanity Box and a few more i cant recall. The cost for 1 box from Wonderbox is RM39.90 with free shipping.

When i registered with Wonderbox online, they gave me a few sets of questions about products i prefer, for example if i'd prefer matte or dewy products, if i love make up or skin care better etc.. I guess this is how they streamline what their subscribers get in their boxes. but of course we dont get alot of UK or US products in it. We get more Asian products in our surprise boxes (found out through surveying their past months beauty boxes).

I subscribed to my January Wonderbox in December and i have been waiting for it to arrive ever since, and it finally came today at my office. Note: i didnt subscribe to the 3 months or 1 year plan because i wanted to wait and see if i'm happy with the first box.

So today i'd like to do a review on my first ever beauty box, the Wonderbox.

 Bubble wrapped securely

Love the pink ribbon, love the packaging. Although smaller than i'd thought it would be

Comes with gift vouchers, pamphlets and an overview card

Overview card of the beauty products inside

The inside, decorated with fake flower petals

 1) Lipstick from Elianto. A reddish color

2) Murad exfoliating mask

 3) Ronasutra (never heard of the brand) mineral face powder and face sponge

 4) Murad face primer

 5) Hair chalk? It says that you can use this to highlight your hair and wash it out after.

Some free flower decoration

The packaging is quite nice i must say. Love that they added a pink ribbon to it. I do appreciate this extra touch. When u first open the box, u'll find a few pamphlets, overview card for the products featured inside the box and a RM30 gift voucher from Murad.

Overall i'm happy that there is a face primer. I've been wanting to get one.I know that Murad has great reviews for their skin products. So hopefully their primers are great too.But since i have oily skin, i sure wished they'd send me a matte instead of the dewy finish. As u know oily skin and dewy finishes dont blend. Am trying to recall what i answered/picked in the set of questions i had to fill in during the subscription.
Nevertheless, i'll give it a try and see how it goes.
The lipstick is from Elianto. Its a red orangey color that i've yet to swatch out . I've never owned an Elianto product. Glad to receive and will test it out. You can never have too many lipsticks can you.
The Ronasutra face powder seems ok since it claims to be made from 100 percent natural minerals. And i love mineral products. I've been using the mineral foundation from Maybelline and it really does give you a better finish . So hopefully this powder gives me the same results i expect from a mineral product.
The hair chalk i completely DISLIKE. Who would wanna highlight their hair with a chalk? Totally not going to try this out. It came in a sachet without any brand/description on it. Even in the overview card there was not a clue on which brand manufactured this hair chalks.
I also got a pomegranate exfoliating face mask from Murad. I honestly dont really use masks, but will try this since i have it. Note to self: must throw in effort to use masks weekly to improve skin condition.

And i could do without the random flower decoration. Really?

Do i love my first Wonderbox: I LIKE it
Will i continue to subscribe: I guess i'd give them another try. Hopefully next month will get products from other brands.
